The Beneteau FirstClass 10 known as Crossbow is well known and much loved..
Crossbow has been updated and modified by this owner since his purchase in 2012 from her previous owner who enjoyed Crossbow for ten years.
This Beneteau FirstClass 10 is one of the best examples of her class and is a very rewarding boat to sail.
Crossbow has been extensively improved for short handed sailing, new boom, Single line reefing with 3 reefs, Stack pack, Tides Marine sail track& dodgers (2016), z-spar Vang (no need for topping lift!), furler, four Harken HA35.2STA self tailing winches (2013), B&G chart plotter, Tacktick instruments, Tackick Compass transducer (2013), Simrad autopilot, NMEA 0183 to NMEA 2000 to seatalk MiniPlex-2s interface (2013) allowing full integration between Tacktick and B&G/Simrad equipment. With the addition of improvements to the running gear, new balanced propeller shaft, Folding propeller.
Interior fittings/foam insulation/cabin linings/Teak roof/ LED interior light fitting/windows & seals / hatch cover/ companion way hatches/ and 12v electrical system replaced between 2014-2016.
Crossbow is regularly found cruising up and down the Bristol Channel most recently to Portishead, Swansea, Ilfracombe, Newport and Milford. She is equally at home cruising and cruiser racing, entering and winning her fair share of trophies. Current IRC is 0.968; Byron 886 (906 without spinnaker)
The boat has a cruising SoloSails Genoa (2015) and tri-radial main from cruising cloth (2016).
Crossbow was last taken out the water onto hard standing for Antifouling in 2019 and more recently taken out for a lunchtime pressure wash and check in 2020. With a rig check and tune in Sept 2020.
Crossbow has been maintained and enhanced to an extent that she is probably the best example of a first-class 10 available today.
