French production boatbuilders Beneteau require no introduction from me, having been in business since 1884! The First 40.7 was initially designed by Bruce Farr in 1999 and very quickly gained popularity with nearly 700 produced in total. I would imagine they are probably the best known of the cruiser-racers, they still turn up in numbers at club regattas all over the country and as a family cruising boat they offer excellent accommodation as well as being fun to sail

In the right hands she's a great contender in any 40.7 fleet race or in any round the cans competition. Alternatively she can be used as a fast cruiser with genuine mile-covering ability.... read more
